Natest Primary School

Welcome to Natest Primary School, a beacon of hope and excellence in education nestled in the heart of Campbell’s Town, Old Mount Edgecombe. Established 55 years ago through the collective efforts of the descendants of indentured labourers from the local sugarcane plantations and mill, our school stands as a testament to the power of community and perseverance. Known affectionately as Madiba’s School, following the memorable visit by Nelson Mandela in 1997, we carry forward the legacy of unity, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence that Madiba himself embodied.

Moriah; Waterloo, Inanda, Kwa Mashu, Amouti, Quarry Heights, and beyond, we are a vibrant melting pot of cultures, ideas, and aspirations. Our dedicated staff and supportive community work hand-in-hand to ensure that every child receives the attention, resources, and encouragement they need to thrive.

Our school has a rich history of nurturing outstanding leaders, citizens, and sportspeople who have gone on to make significant contributions to society. We pride ourselves on our ability to unlock the potential within each student, fostering an environment where young minds can grow, explore, and achieve their dreams. Our curriculum is designed not only to meet academic standards but to instill values of respect, integrity, and social responsibility.

More than 80% of our learners come from areas outside our immediate vicinity, a testament to the trust and value placed in our educational approach. We understand the challenges faced by our students and their families, and we strive to provide a supportive and empowering environment. Through scholarships, mentorship programs, and community engagement initiatives, we aim to break down barriers to education and create opportunities for every child to succeed.

Join us in our journey as we continue to shape the future leaders of our nation. At Natest Primary School, we believe that every child is a star, destined to shine brightly in their own unique way.
